Student leadership
At Arnewood, student leadership is genuine and meaningful. We believe that students should have a real voice in the life of the school - and we've built structures that make that from individual year groups right through to whole-school representation.
Head Students and Deputies
Our Head Students and Deputy Head Students are elected to represent the whole school community. They work closely with senior staff, lead on whole-school events and initiatives, and act as ambassadors for everything Arnewood stands for. They are the visible face of student leadership at Arnewood - and a genuine source of pride for the school.
Prefects
Our Prefect team is made up of students who have applied and been selected for their commitment to the school community. Prefects support the day-to-day life of the school - helping at events, acting as role models for younger students, and playing an active part in making Arnewood a welcoming and well-run place. Being a Prefect is one of the most rewarding things a student can do at Arnewood.
Arnewood Listens - Student voice
Arnewood Listens is our student voice programme - and the name says it all. We take student views seriously. Through Arnewood Listens, students can share ideas, raise concerns, and contribute to decisions that affect their school. It's how we make sure that Together isn't just a value on a wall - it's how we actually operate.
School Council
Our School Council brings together student representatives from across the school to discuss whole-school issues, propose ideas, and work with staff on improving the Arnewood experience. Council members are elected by their peers and meet regularly throughout the year.
Year councils
Each year group has its own Year Council - a dedicated space for students to raise issues and ideas that matter to them at their stage of school life. Year Councils feed into the wider School Council, ensuring every student has a route to make their voice heard.
