Rewards
At Arnewood, we believe in celebrating success. Recognising effort, achievement and kindness is central to our school culture, and we want every student to feel seen and valued for the contribution they make to our community.
STAR points
Success, Together, Ambition, Reward
We use STAR points to recognise when students demonstrate one of our school values. Points are awarded through Arbor across a wide range of achievements - from hard work in lessons and excellent results, to acts of kindness and community contribution.
STAR points are awarded for:
- Full engagement in learning
- Excellent work - in class, in home learning, or in a practical or verbal context
- Excellent assessment results
- Improvement in learning - including persevering with something challenging
- Full week of attendance
- Working well with others
- Community contribution - helping at a school event, tidying a space, supporting others
- Acts of kindness - helping someone in need, challenging discrimination, caring behaviour
- Taking part in enrichment - clubs, sports, drama, trips or representing the school
Milestones and rewards
Parents and carers can see the reason for each STAR point awarded through the Arbor app. You'll also receive an email notification when your child reaches key milestones - such as 10, 25 or 50 points - and students can redeem their points for rewards. Tutor group and year group totals are celebrated collectively too, so the whole community benefits from everyone's efforts.
