Admissions & open events

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you'll make - and we'd love to be part of that journey. Arnewood is a community built on strong relationships, high expectations and genuine care for every individual. We warmly welcome applications from families both locally and further afield.

Our catchment link schools are New Milton Junior School, Ashley Junior School, Hordle C of E Primary School, Bransgore C of E Primary School and Tiptoe Primary School. Applications from children attending other schools are welcome.

How to apply to join us

The move to secondary school is a big moment - exciting, but naturally something that can feel daunting too. We do everything we can to make sure every child settles quickly, feels known, and is supported by a warm and highly skilled team from day one.

Applications for Year 7 must be made online directly with Hampshire County Council. Further information can be found on the Hampshire County Council Admissions website page - see link below.

Open events

We love welcoming families into school so you can see Arnewood for yourself. Our open events are a chance to meet staff and students, explore the school, and get a real feel for who we are. Details of upcoming open events will be listed here as soon as they are confirmed in the school calendar. Alternatively you can contact us on 01425 625400 or use the 'Book a tour' form at the bottom of this page to arrange a visit at a time that suits you.

National notification date for on-time applicants 
12th March 2026 Notification date for late applicants (for applications received after 31 October 2025 and before 2 March 2026)

Deadline date for parents wishing to lodge an appeal (submitting completed appeal forms) 
From 27th April to 22nd May 2026, inclusive (excluding Monday 4th May)  Year 7 appeal hearings to be held 
Within five school days of hearing  Decision letters to be sent

Applying for a place at Arnewood Sixth Form

The Sixth Form at Arnewood is a natural next step - a place where students who have grown with us take their next steps with familiar faces behind them, and where those joining us from elsewhere find an equally ambitious and welcoming community.

Applications for sixth form places are made directly to Arnewood Sixth with the application forms below.

Internal Applications

External Applications
We welcome external and internal applications from students meeting our published criteria. The standard entry requirement is 5 strong GCSE passes including English and Mathematics, although we offer resit places for those who otherwise meet the entry requirement.
