A Warm Welcome to Arnewood Sixth

I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to our website as the Head of Sixth Form at Arnewood Sixth. It is a privilege to guide our students through this pivotal stage in their educational journey, preparing them for higher education and future careers.

At Arnewood Sixth, ambition is at the heart of everything we do. We take pride in fostering a learning environment where students are encouraged to set their sights high, challenge themselves, and pursue excellence. This ambition drives our commitment to delivering a first-class education, led by experienced teachers who inspire and empower our students.

Our dedication to success is reflected in the outstanding achievements of our students, with 2024 seeing 85% of our students achieving their first-choice university.  We are proud to be an inclusive Sixth Form, that really gets to know the students supporting them to secure places at leading universities and apprenticeships across the UK and beyond.  Equipping them with the skills and knowledge essential for their future aspirations.

Above all, we believe that success is strengthened through students working together. Our community is built on a foundation of collaboration, inclusivity, and support. Through our Personal Development, Enrichment and a Leadership programme, we ensure every student engages in opportunities that enhance their academic, professional, and personal growth. Visitors from diverse industries and organisations enrich our students’ learning experiences, preparing them to be well-rounded, future-ready individuals.

I am confident that your journey at Arnewood Sixth will be marked by personal growth, academic achievement, and enriching experiences. Join us as part of a community where ambition is nurtured, success is celebrated, and together, we build a future full of possibilities.

Arnewood Sixth Café

We are Aspens Services, a market leading contract catering company, and we specialise in school food.

We only work in the education sector, so we know what our customers want. Mixing this knowledge with an understanding of what’s hot in the food world sparks creativity and excitement in our chefs. Our kitchens provide delicious home-cooked food each day and cater for individual dietary requirements.

We don’t just provide food, we play our part to educate children and raise awareness about nutrition, food and where it comes from, so that they can make informed and mindful choices. Feeding our future.

We push the boundaries here with fascinating dishes that grab a lot of attention in the world of food. We understand that tastes are expanding, and students are keen on the chance of new food experiences. We also don’t forget that familiarity and comfort are what so many want so we have plenty of choices to fit the bill. With important learning to be done, we make sure that we are feeding healthy minds as well as bodies.

Streateries is our main secondary meal offer. With food drawing on Asian, African, Caribbean, and more traditional fare, the menu includes street food dishes, handheld versions with vegetarian and vegan choices and sides available.

Our Deli Kitchen builds on the popularity of our standard hot and cold deli offers, to provide more substantial meals at our grab and go counter.

Student Leadership

Sixth Form students are actively encouraged to volunteer and apply for student leadership opportunities. Our student Leadership team represent the school and our community at a wide host of events throughout the year. Their work and responsibilities are very varied and these students always embrace and represent our school values Ambition, Success, Together.

Sixth Form student leaders play a vital role in driving positive change across the entire school.  They take the lead in coordinating the School Council and chairing Year Council meetings, ensuring that the voices of all students are heard and, importantly, acted upon. Through their leadership, they help shape a more inclusive, responsive, and forward-thinking school community.

Students also have the opportunity to become Subject Ambassadors, all Post-16 subjects appoint students to support the work of the department and represent them at key school events. This role will often include supporting the work of their peers and younger students as well as giving talks about their enjoyment of the subject.

We also welcome students to promote the health well-being our students and staff each year we appoint a team of well-being ambassadors. Working with the Safeguarding Team, the Mental Health Ambassadors will help with resources, campaigns and promoting a culture of positive mental health and kindness across our school community.
