The Arnewood Careers Fair

Our annual careers fair was held this week and was visited by all students as well as the parents/carers of years 7 and 8. The Arnewood School Careers Fair offers students the opportunity to engage with employers, colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers. They can learn about the wide range of careers that are available to them through various pathways.

In the run up to the fair tutors spent quality time talking to students about their aspirations and how they can best use the time interacting with exhibitors. The event took place in the hall and gym from 11am to 4pm on Thursday 14^th November. A fantastic range of exhibitors attended including local employers, universities from around the country and apprenticeship providers from various careers. We were incredibly excited to welcome back a few Arnewood Alumni who now hold permanent positions within some of the visiting organisations and are a testament of success.

The aim of the fair is to broaden the horizons of students’ career choices by raising awareness of the various careers that are available to them and the routes which they can take to get to there. Arnewood’s very own Career’s Advisor, Mrs Bennett was also on hand and available to help.

Mark Colman, Head of Arnewood Sixth and Careers Lead for the school thanks all those who supported the careers fair and said “It was a successful event where the exhibitors left giving glowing endorsements about their interactions with our students. Many of the students that I spoke with found the fair very informative. A special thanks to Kirsty Bishop-Maddock who did the administrative work in preparation for the event and took the lead on the day, running a very well attended Careers Fair.”
