Open Evening 2024

Hundreds of people attended our Open Evening, as local Year 6 families spent time exploring Arnewood School before applying for a place to start in September 2025. The deadline to apply is 31^st October and can be made through https://www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/admissions

The evening took place on Wednesday 25^th September between 4 and 7pm. The wet weather didn’t seem to affect the turn out or dampen our enthusiasm for sharing the Arnewood experience with visitors.

Among the highlights were the live performances in music, hands on experiments in Science, an ‘escape room’ in Learning Support, fabric printing in textiles, passport café in languages, as well as cooking demonstrations and tasty treats in food technology.

The drama department hosted a number of Frozen themed activities in anticipation of our school being selected to produce The South East Region Schools Premiere for Disney’s Frozen. The Arnewood School was one of only eleven schools selected for the privilege countrywide.

Mr Anderson delivered his Headteacher’s Presentation to Year 6 families twice throughout the night.  For those who may have been unable to attend on the night, we are offering a limited number of personal tours which can be book via the school reception.

Mr Anderson said: “It was brilliant to see so many families from our community turn out to support their school and find out how we create opportunities to succeed for all our students. Our students and staff are at the heart of all we do and getting to know our families enables us to offer the best support during transition to secondary school and beyond.”
