Arnewood hits the right notes
Over 30 Arnewood students represented the school in the New Milton Music Festival this weekend, coming away with 2 certificates of merits, a certificate of distinction and individually Alice Cooper received a certificate of distinction and a silver medal for her performance of a Bach Gavotte on the violin.
The day started with the Arnewood orchestra getting some lovely feedback from the adjudicator about the amazing conductor (Rhiannon Gilbert year 10) and our lyrical playing culminating in a certificate of merit and trophy.
In the afternoon the Frozen choir entered a performance rather than being part of the competition but despite this we still got some amazing feedback, both about our soloists, Bonnie Blake, Poppy Flynn, Louis Lyons and Allana Vincent and about the “outstanding choir”. The choir received a certificate of distinction.
Finally our string group performed in the string ensemble competition finishing the day with a certificate of merit and a trophy.
It was a lovely day and a delight to see Arnewood students representing the school and music department within the community.
